The CNRS-UArizona cooperation supports research in all disciplines through mechanisms such as Joint Ph.D. Projects, International Emerging Actions (IEA), International Research Projects (IRP), and International Research Networks (IRN). The Institute is designed to help develop the proposals, implement the research, and promote the outcomes.

The CNRS-UArizona IRC fosters interdisciplinary research of significant scientific and societal significance, with an emphasis on (1) Food-Energy-Water solutions, (2) life and living in extreme environments, (3) human health in changing environments. Expertise and research capacity in all disciplines are mobilized to address these focal areas
